Fr. Leonard Partensky, Dies at 95

Father Leonard J. Partensky, passed on from this life on Thursday, April 14, at the age of 95.
 
Father Partensky was born on January 28, 1916, in Detroit and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 30, 1942. He served as associate pastor at St, David of Wales Parish, Detroit; St. John Nepomucene Parish, Detroit; St. Margaret Mary Parish, Detroit; St. James Parish, Ferndale; St. Joan of Arc Parish, St. Clair Shores; St. Michael Parish, Livonia; Our Lady of Refuge Parish, Orchard Lake, and as pastor of St. Matthias Parish, Sterling Heights; St. Thecla Parish, Clinton Township; and St. Joseph Parish, South Lyon.
 
He will be waked at the LJ Griffin Funeral Home, 7707 Middlebelt Road., Westland (734-552-9400), where visitation will be held on Monday, April 18 between 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
 
Father Partensky will lie in state on Tuesday, April 19, at St. Michael Parish, Livonia, from 10 a.m. until the celebration of his funeral Mass at 11:00. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
