Father Michael T. Kazer, entered eternal life Wednesday, September 8, at the age of 57.
Father Kazer was born on March 25, 1953 in Royal Oak and was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on May 31, 1980. He served as associate pastor at St. Mary Parish, Royal Oak; St. Raymond Parish, Detroit; and St. Edmund Parish, Warren; and as pastor of St. Anne Parish, Warren, and St. Edith Parish, Livonia, where he served until the time of his death. In addition, he served as director of the St. John Center for the Deaf, Warren, and as chaplain to De La Salle High School, Warren, and to the Warren and Livonia police departments.
Visitation will be held at St. Edith Parish, 15089 Newburgh Road, Livonia, on Monday, September 13, from 12 to 8 p.m., with a Scriptural Rosary at 7.
The celebration of his funeral Mass will be Tuesday, September 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Edith. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Father Kazer was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Thomas, and his nephew, Tom. Condolences may be sent to Father Kazer’s brother and nephew in care of St. Edith Parish.
In lieu of flowers, Father Kazer requested donations to the Glenmary Home Missioners of Cincinnati.
