Detroit – On Saturday, Archbishop Allen Vigneron will bless a monument at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield that will mark the burial site of 23 aborted babies whose bodies were found in dumpsters near local abortion clinics.

The bodies were found in 2008 by pro-life activists who were praying near a Woman Care abortion clinic in Lathrup Village. Members from the group Citizens for a Pro-Life Society subsequently found more remains in two other abortion clinics that were run by Dr. Alberto Hodari.

The bodies were buried in May of 2008, following a Mass celebrated by then-Detroit Auxiliary Bishop John Quinn at St. Gerald Church in Farmington.

The finding of the remains, and of improperly disposed bio-hazard waste and patient records, has resulted in legal action against Dr. Hodari.

“At least these 23 victims of legalized abortion found their way to a human cemetery and on Saturday the archbishop of Detroit will dedicate their grave marker,” said Monica Miller, director of Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, in a news release issued Wednesday. “This simple stone not only marks the grave of unwanted and discarded unborn children – but it is a sign of America’s injustice towards the most vulnerable and helpless members of the human family.”
